Project Trident is an on-line forum to promote social responsibility for skateboarders. My goal with this project is to increase the awareness of our generation to the nature and environment surrounding us. Increasing the awareness of everyone out there about skateboarding, one individual at a time is my mission…this blog is my platform. Skateboarders have developed a reputation as being “mischievous” and “disrespectful youth” and my goal is to change that. In fact, skateboarding isn’t just a sport, its an art form…even a lifestyle. Some skate rigidly, sticking to kickflips and varials while others pump and flow with rhythm…no doubt, every skateboarder little to old develops their own unique style that is theirs and theirs alone. Some utilize this art form as a social gathering, while to others its a spiritual relaxation and bond with nature and the elements around. To me its the ultimate challenge of mind, body, nature and soul in unison…a love.
I challenge those who disagree with my views to go visit a local skatepark and watch someone for 15 minutes. Notice the determination, the psyche of the individual, the challenge set before them to take a chance and sacrifice all just to grind that rail, ollie that box, or ride that bowl. Skateboarding teaches practice, hard work, self discipline and trust… and that trust turns into confidence. The confidence to practice until you achieve your goal.
Undoubtedly so, in that same 15 minutes you will also see the so called “mischievious” youth I am out to change. My goal is to change the culture of skateboarding, not the “soul food” it provides to each individual. So come help me build on this idea and spread what I call Social Skateboard Responsibility…so that we together can change all misconceptions for our generation.
Epic adventures to all and check the Skatevine for daily news feeds and updates,
Nick
